When We Are Closed

01.01.2021 (Bank Holiday) 

If you have an urgent problem when the surgery is closed please ring 0330 100 4471 and your call will be answered by the out-of-hours PELC team that cover out of hours. 

Please note that when contacting them, your telephone conversation will be recorded (Monday – Friday between 08.00 - 18.30). 

We have three Local GP HUB Services for urgent appointments after 18:00 that is run by local GP’s. You can call them directly on 020 3770 1888 between 14:00-21:00 on weekdays and 09:00-17:00 on weekends and 08:00 - 20:00 on bank holidays for an appointment. They are based in Newbury Park, Fullwell Cross in Barkingside and in South Woodford.

NHS 111

111 is a service introduced to make it easier for you to access local NHS healthcare services. You can call 111 when you need medical help fast but it’s not a 999 emergency. NHS 111 is a fast and easy way to get the right help at day or night, for other urgent health advice - including if you have concerns about your Covid-19 symptoms. 

Accepting calls from 18.30 - 08.00 daily, weekends and Bank Holidays (This number is free to call). 

Walk-in Centres 

Alternatively, when the surgery is closed patients can visit one of the local Walk-in* Centres that provide an acute minor illness or minor injury care. These include the:-

  • Upney Lane, Barking (8am-10pm) 020 8924 6262 - Essex, IG11 9YD

*The NHS in London is very busy due to rising coronavirus infection rates, please call before you walk-in. 

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens. 

Please remember that 999 and A&E are for emergencies. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
